SUCCESS STORIES

SCARLET ' FIELDZY ' FIELD

I first met FIELDZY when she came and trialed for Cambridge United U14 , she showed alot of potential so was taken on. She worked very hard at training aswell as away from it , this led to her being recognised as the best Goalkeeper in Cambridges playing region in that 1st season , if you consider they play Arsenal and Aston Villa from which most of the England players come from , she did very well.

This got her a good reputation and with this got a trial at ARSENAL for their U16s, she was accepted . I am in regular contact with her and her Dad Bill and by all accounts she has continued to play very well, this may potentially mean that England could be knocking on her door very soon.

BETH ' BUFFY' IVENS

Buff has been at Cambridge United since I started 4 seasons ago , she has progressed from U14 right through to U16. She is a very good keeper aswell as being a super character to have around.

This past season Cambridge has seen what BUFFY is all about , she has played every game bar 1 and has always played aswell as she can with many good games. Sad to say this season was her last as a Cambridge player but on the positive side she will hopefully be assisting me when she can as Assistant Goalkeeping Coach now she has passed her Level 1 GK Badge.

On the playing side I am very pleased to say that she has accepeted the chance to play for CHELSEA in their Academy, womens reserves and 1st team, she will also be playing for TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS Ladies on a sunday.

I am proud to say that she is also involved in the ENGLAND COLLEGES setup being involved in the squad that played WALES on March 3rd 2011.

EVAN ' ALMIGHTY ' JECKELLS

THIS IS ONE TO WATCH OUT FOR . The EV MAN has been with me since he was 8 playing for Ely Crusaders U9 , he is a very enthusiastic , energetic , a smashing keeper as well as being a really nice lad .

He played last season for HISTON FC after he had an impressive trial there and has had a very good season . A highlight of his season was playing against Notts County infront of then Football Director Sven Goran Erikson who commented on how well Ev had played.

He has signed for CAMBRIDGE UNITED  after very strong interest from COVENTRY CITY .

This lad has definately got a BIG future in the game and I hope to help him as much as I can so remember his name.

LUKE ' EMMO ' EMSON

EMMO is a very talented keeper as well as being a great lad to have around . He is a highly regarded , well respected benchmark that everyone aspires to be like.

Emmo has been with me for about 6 seasons, he was at CAMBRIDGE UNITED Centre of Excellence when he first arrived aswell as playing for Soham Town Rangers. He was released by Cambridge which knocked his confidence in his abilities . Thankfully we rebuilt this and he trialed at Leicester City in which he did well but sadly got injuired.

After recovering from injury he returned , got fit , then got a trial at NORWICH CITY playing against the likes of ARSENAL and CHARLTON. A change of staff caused uncertainty on what the future held for him at Norwich. About a month later he got a call from them asking him to play for them in the FA YOUTH FINAL at the stadium of light ( SUNDERLAND ) which he did.

Following that he trialed at IPSWICH TOWN infront of then manager Jim Magilton again doing well but more disruption as Magilton was sacked.

While this was going on he was studying at Hills Road Sixth form , with the football team he reached the National Colleges Final finishing runners up.

He had also been involved in CAMBRIDGE CITYS 1st team and in his words the other keepers were "NO LUKE EMSON" but decided Uni was his path.

He has been training with Blue Square Premier side EASTBOURN BOUROUGH with the hope that something will come from it.

I still firmly believe that this lad has something to offer a pro club and with trials hopefully someone will realise this to.

BEN ' SMILER ' LOWTHER

This lad stands for the very thing my training is all about LISTEN + LEARNING + ENJOYING = SUCCESS.

He has been with me for 5 and a bit seasons, in his first season he came to me a 3rd of the way through as his teams keeper had given up. He was very nervous and did not smile until the end when I asked him if he had enjoyed himself , hence SMILER.

By the end of that season after he had worked hard he recieved PLAYERS PLAYER OF THE YEAR and SUPPORTERS PLAYER OF THE YEAR at his end of season   presentation ( he had never won a trophy before that ).

With the same attitude he has developed becoming a highly regarded and respected member of the group not only as a keeper but as a person to.

 RYAN ' NOSSY ' DAY

Ryan has been with me since he was 9 years old , he is a very good young golkeeper who has alot of talent. He signed for NORTHAMPTON TOWN in their ELITE SQUAD for the 2010/2011 season . He was asked to sign on week 3 of his 6 week trial as he had impressed the coaches enough to do so.

He is a very determined lad and is always eager to improve to make sure that he always does his best.

This is the first step on the ladder for Ryan , this will be great for his confidence and his career as I think he is another to watch out for.

 HOLLIE ' H ' AUGUSTUS

H has been training with me for just about 3 seasons , she is definately one of the most determined and self-competative person you will ever meet. This acts as motivation for her to keep improving and always wants to practise and get better even when she is injuired.

When she was training with me she showed that technically she could match the boys she was training with and would have no trouble in mixing it up with them. She came with me to CAMBRIDGE UNITED after limited playing experience in goal but showed great potential and is now signed up for the U16 and has done very well over the 2010/11 season.

She is now signed for the U17 at Cambridge Girls Centre of Excellence for the 2011/2012 season and has been playing very well.

I think that her attitude will be a benefit as she always wants to improve and that combined with a natural talent she will do VERY well as long as she does not keep injuring herself at training or DOING AN H as its now known ,

SAV' SAVO 'SMITH

Sav is a very dedicated individual who I have been proud to have known and taught, always gives her best and is always willing to keep practising to get better.

I feel that along with H she is has the potential to be a very good goalkeeper within the girls / womens game and could reach higher in the game if she believed that she could. She is the veteran of the Cambridge group being with me since I started 6 years ago and has got better year by year , hopefully this will continue.

She is signed for the U17s alongside H playing well , this sadly being her final season for Cambridge but hopefully not with me.

Personally I feel that there is still alot more to come from this young lady and I am sure with the right encouragement people WILL see it.

IZZY ' RASCAL' COOMBER

110% determination pretty much sums up this young lady . She has been in and out of the Cambridge Girls setup for the last 3 years due to no fault of her own. She fought her way back into Cambridge for the 2011/2012 season with the aim of proving the people who doubted her abilities wrong, which she has with great effect.

With her love of the game and her willingness to succeed she is a good keeper now but with a high potential of getting better and better.

I have a great amount of respect for Izzy for how she has dealt with some very difficult situations with and away from football , but for her to keep going and keep working the way she does is all credit to her.

BETH ' MIDGE ' DAVIES

Midge has been the 2nd longest serving Goalkeeper at Cambridge Girls since I started 7 years ago, after Savo. I have had the pleasure to see her grow up as a person and a Goalkeeper over 6 years and watch her abilities grow to.

I have no doubt that she will do very well in her career and that she will progress up the football ladder.

Midge is a great character to have around, always worth a laugh , but puts in the hard work when needed.

JONA ' BIG J ' GILL

BIG J is a footballing nutter aswell as just being a nutter ( like his dad ) and when it comes to goalkeeping this is a great quality. He is a very hardworking and enthusiastic lad who's passion for football is obvious as he is always the last to leave the pitch.

J is part of my Wisbech group that has been running for a season and a half ( Jan 2010 ) , he started off as the youngest in the group by about 3 years but soon settled into the goalkeepers union .The effort he has put in has in his dads words " I have gone from watching a boy standing in goal to watching a goalkeeper " . J is playing for Wisbech St Marys currently but is also a regular with ARSENAL SOCCER SCHOOLS who play against other Centres of excellence and Pro Academys , with J being an ARSENAL fan , to wear the badge is brilliant for him .

J has played two games for ARSENAL against CAMBRIDGE UNITED and NOTTS COUNTY in which he played so well the NOTTS COUNTY boss said that if J lived closer he would have signed him there and then.

Watch out , BIG J is about.

HARRY ' SPEEDO ' STEVENS

Speedo is a great lad that definatly has great attributes as a goalkeeper with flexability, agility and spring like a mad cat.

Harry is another member of the Wisbech group to have suceeded in getting picked for ARSENAL SOCCER SCHOOLS which is credit to him.

He has the potential to be a good keeper if he believed in his abilities a bit more, when he does something he says he cannot he ends up with this massive grin that seems to stretch right round his head  ( Kicking and diving to your right hey speedo ) .

I feel that there is still some more to come from Speedo yet.

CAMERON 'MASSIV' BATES

I very much doubt you will meet someone quite as energetic as MASSIV . But this energy and general lack of an OFF button has made him a entertaining part of the Wisbech Tuesday crew and now part of PETERBOURGH UNITED U10s Centre of Excellence along with LUKAS 'ROCKET 'VALCIUKAS for the 2011/2012 season.

He has an enormous amount of energy and is as mad as mad gets ,diving around all the time even when he does not need to.Combining that with a natural athletic ability this will hopefully stand him in good stead for a future in football.

LUKAS ' ROCKET ' VALCIUKAS

Rocket has been training with me for about 1 season. He is a natural athlete between the sticks and always tries very hard in each training session he participates in.He was playing for a local March team before being asked to go with PETERBOURGH UNITED in their Development Centre.

After impressing them he was asked to sign for the U10 Centre of Excellance side alongside MASSIV for the remainder of the 2011/2012 season, he will progress well playing against higher ability talents to develop his own.
