INJURY UPDATE - Beth 'BUFFY' Ivens

Buff is now only 2 months away from action . Speaking to her during early december she said she hopes to be back mid febuary which is brillliant news. 


EV MAN STAYING AT CAMBRIDGE UNITED

The EV MAN Evan Jeckells is staying at Cambridge united for the next 2 seasons after signing a new contract . Best of luck Evster.


INJURY UPDATE - Beth 'BUFFY ' Ivens

BUFF has had her operation on her AC Ligament and other parts of her knee and is now recovering at home. I have been in contact with her and even though she is drugged up but is remaining positive. When she gets the all clear I am glad to say she will be back training with me which I am looking forward to, but first things first.

FIELDZY TRIALS WITH ENGLAND U19

Scarlet ' FIELDZY ' Fields has spent 3 days trialing with the ENGLAND U19 in a hope to be selected even though she is only 16 . She is up against 3 others which includes the 1st and 2nd choice from last season . She played 10 mins against Ireland with positive feedback from the manager.

Fingers crossed.


MASSIV SIGNING FOR POSH

Cameron ' MASSIV ' Bates is after trailing with Peterborough United U9 is going to be signing for them , sad to say that his training will be on the same day as my Tuesday training so I will see little of him but I wish him the very best in the future and hopefully see him again.

 


MASSIV PLAYS FOR POSH

Cameron ' MASSIV ' Bates played this past Wednesday (27th July) for Peterborough United U9 against Birmingham City . The score ended 14-0 to birmingham possibly down to the fact that 80 mins was played with Birmingham having 15 players available for the 7 aside game with Peterborough only having 8.

Massivs dad said that he made some good saves and it could have been 5 or 6 more if he had not have been there.

 


FIELDZY AND BUFFY UPDATE

Scarlet 'FIELDZY' Field has recently played for Arsenal Womens reserves and now trains with the 1st team. She has also been selected for the England U19 trial squad where she will trial against 3 others.

Beth ' Buffy ' Ivens I am afraid is going to have an operation on a torn AC Ligament and will be out of action for 6 months , Beth is understandably frustrated at this but I intend to support her through any way I can.

NEW DATES FOR 2011 /2012

THE RETURNS

On SAT 28th we shall be having some legends return for the end of season fun . Lawrence ' JACKIE ' Martin is making his long awaited return with the gloves ,  Scott ' SCOTTY SHOTGUN CHOCLATE POWER RANGER ' Grainger as well as the GRUESOME TWOSOME in Matty ' LEFTY ' Wright and Jake ' RIGHTY ' Alsop , these two = trouble .

From what I have heard the GRUESOME TWOSOME will be returning to regular training on Saturdays from next season , Saturdays will never be the same again in the best possible way.

 


INJURY REPORT = CHUNKY MUNKY AND THE EV MAN FIT AGAIN , BUFFY OUT

Evan ' Almighty ' Jeckells is now back fit again after breaking his arm , Jamie ' CHUNKY ' Clark has been back in light training for the past 3 weeks which has been good to see , best of all was to see him diving around again which is something he was very worrid about doing especially on the leg he had broken , he came through with a smile and no pain.

On the bad side Beth' BUFFY ' Ivens has / is sidelined with a suspected ligament injury to the outside of her left knee , being out is in Buffs words "driving her mental" not that she needs much help. 

 


THE KING IS STILL AT CAMBRIDGE

I have been asked to sign up to be Head Goalkeeping Coach again for CAMBRIDGE CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE for Girls ( used to be CAMBRIDGE UNITED ) to which I have accepted , now all we are waiting on is to see if Cambridge have been succesfull in their application for centre status.


BIG J PLAYS FOR ARSENAL AGAINST NOTTS COUNTY

Jona ' BIG J ' Gill played for Arsenal Soccer schools again this past weekend with the big man putting in a great performance according to his dad Matt ' THE MONK ' Gill against NOTTS COUNTY'S Centre Of Excellence. The Notts County manager said to THE MONK at the end of the game that if BIG J lived closer he would be handing him a sheet of paper to sign him up there and then.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED GIRLS WIN IN HOLLAND

Sav 'SAVELOY ' Smith , Hollie ' H ' Augustus and Beth ' MIDGE ' Davies have come back from their tournement in Holland as champions. SAV / H (u16) and MIDGE ( U14) played clubs from Denmark aswell as Dutch teams with both teams coming out on top aswell as having a great time to.

SPEEDO AND BIG J PLAY FOR ARSENAL SOCCER SCHOOL TEAMS

Harry ' SPEEDO ' Stevens and Jona 'BIG J ' Gill have both played for ARSENAL in their Elite Soccer Schools this past week against Cambridge United.

SPEEDO TO PLAY FOR ARSENAL SOCCER SCHOOLS TEAM

Harry ' SPEEDO ' Stevens is going to be playing for Arsenal in their development soccer schools team on Thursday March 31st. He had been a regular attender to their schools and has already played with them before. Also a whisper in the pipeline is that Arsenal are after another member of my Tuesday group in the shape of 8 year old Jonah ' BIG J ' Gill but we will have to wait and see on that one. 


INJURY UPDATE

Evan ' ALMIGHTY ' Jeckells broke his wrist at a Cambridge United training session 2 weeks ago now ,hopefully this will be sorted and healed in the next 2-3weeks and he will be back in action.

On a very positive note Jamie ' Chunky ' Clark returned to training on the last saturday of the 5 for the 1st time since breaking his leg in August 2010 , he told me that he would take it easy and would not be diving , that did not last even 5 minutes.


BUFFY PLAYS AGAINST WALES

Beth 'BUFFY ' Ivens played for England colleges against Wales in the 2nd leg of their cup game against Wales. Buff played the second half and made a great save to her top left which she was very proud of. She has signed a contract with the team to continue to play .


NOSSY+EVSTER UPDATE

Just to say that Ryan ' NOSSY' Day and Evan 'ALMIGHTY' Jeckells are performing very well at Northampton Town and Cambridge United respectively . They have both been playing games and performing well.

BUFFY IN ENGLAND COLLEGES SQUAD

Beth ' BUFFY' Ivens was selected for the England Colleges squad for a game against Wales on Thurs 3rd March . It was out of the blue phone call but as you can imagine she did not hang up. As soon as she send me a photo I will have it put up .


GOALKEEPING DAY WAS A GREAT CATCH

The goalkeeping day that was run during half term on Weds 23rd Feb was a good day had by all. 30 keepers of all ages , boys and girls turned out even in the rain.

I would like to say a big thanks to Smithy ( Andy ) , Steve , 2FB ( Rob ) , J , and my old man Steve for coaching on the day and for everyone that turned up.


FRIDAY SESSION TO SHUT DOWN

Due to other upcoming commitments I am sadly having to close the Cottenham session on a friday , the session will finish on Friday Feb 4th.


GOALKEEPING DAY

On Wednesday Feb 23rd ( During half Term ) I am holding a goalkeeping open day at Witchford Village college on their 3G astro from 10 - 3 for all my groups costing £25 for the day.

It will involve me and other qualified coaches taking sessions on various topics aswell as fun sessions including 2v2  in the afternoon.

I have two friends who are qualified Goalkeeping Coaches coming from Leicester aswell as other qualified coaches coming too.

If you are in any of my groups and are interested in coming please let me know so I can book you in.

    


PRICE CHANGES

The prices for the SUNDAY and THURSDAY night sessions ahve both been raised up to £35 to make them equal with the other sessions.


RASCAL TRIALING WITH NORTHAMPTON

Izzy 'Rascal' Coomber is trialing with Northampton Town U14 Girls on Monday 22nd Nov. Fingers crossed she does well and it then could be the case that its RASCAL Vs MIDGE as Northampton play Cambridge in the same fixture group.


INJURY UPDATE

CHUNKY - As you may know Jamie 'Chunky' Clark broke his leg back in Aug / September time . I am pleased to announce that he is literally back on his feet and walking about which is amazing considering the extent of his injury . He is seeing a specialist in December to see how he is progressing and will hopefully be back training in Febuary.

EMMO - Luke 'Emmo' Emson has been training with Blue Square Premier side Eastbourne Bourough but has damaged the tendon in his knee but thankfully only slightly , he should be back with them after the christmas break fitter than before.On the positive side Eastbourne are trying to arrange the bigman some physio which shows they think something of him. 


SATURDAY AND SUNDAY GROUPS WILL MOVE TO WITCHFORD 

From Saturday Nov 6th the Saturday group will be moving to Witchford Village College on the new 3G astro and on the Sunday the Sunday group will be moving to Witchford to  .


MIDGES GOT TALENT 

Beth 'MIDGE' Davies has been selected to go to the England talent camp for her age group.

EMMO TO PLAY FOR EASTBOURNE RESERVES 

Luke 'EMMO' Emson is going to play for Eastbourne Bourogh Reserves in the next couple of weeks. Luke has trained twice with the goalkeepers at the club and he has been asked to play for the reserves in the next few weeks.

EV MAN SIGNS FOR CAMBRIDGE UNITED

Evan ' ALMIGHTY ' Jeckells has signed for Cambridge United. Evster had been asked to sign for Coventry City but a descion was made that Cambridge was the best option at this time.

NOSSY SIGNS FOR NORTHAMPTON ELITE SQUAD

Ryan 'NOSSY' Day has been asked to sign up for Northampton Town in their Elite squad to which he has accepted. He and another keeper were asked to sign just 3 weeks into their 6 week trial after being told that he had "done more than enough".

Well Done, front row seats or VIP Box please mate.
SEANY INTO COUNTY TEAM 

Sean' SEANY ' McGlone has been asked to represent for the County team after his trial , he will now play friendlys to determin who will be the NO.1 , I have no doubts that SEANY is the man.

NOSSY TRIALING WITH NORTHAMPTON TOWN

Ryan ' NOSSY' Day has just started his 6 week trial at Northampton. This is the 2nd part of the trial which only lads they are really interested in get a call back. He played well making 3 really good saves and seemed confident in his performance.

MR EMSON TO TRIAL WITH EASTBOURNE BOROUGH

Luke ' MR EMSON ' Emson is going to be trialing with conference side Eastbourne Borough on his return to Brighton, he will be trialing straight away with the 1st team. They also have a Reserve team that play the likes of Millwall , Southend to name but a few so fingers crossed that this is opportunity he deserves.


SEANY TO TRIAL FOR CAMBS COUNTY

Sean 'SEANY' McGlone has been asked to trial for the Cambridgeshire County Representative team on the 25th Sept.


SUTTON TO BE THE WEEKEND SESSIONS

Sutton is going to be the base for the Saturday and Sunday sessions as Mepals Pitch currently is not safe enough.


WISBECH BACK TO 8-9 SLOT

The session at Wisbech on a tuesday is back to its 8-9 slot now as the season has restarted.


COTTENHAM SESSIONS ON A FRIDAY TO SWITCH TO THE 3G 

We have got a place on the 3G for when the nights start drawing in we are on it now on it from 6-7.


WITCHFORD THURSDAY TO START ON SEPT 9TH

Thursday night training will be a sutton when we start again on the 26th Aug and on Sept 2nd but from the 9th we will be at Witchford on their 3G turf from 6.45.

The EV MAN Evan Jeckells is going to Coventry for a trial in the near future after being recommended.

WILLS AND NOSSY TRIALING AT NORTHAMPTON

Will ' WILLS ' Holmes and Ryan ' NOSSY ' Day have both recently had trials at Northampton Town , Will has had his 2nd trial after being invited back and fingers crossed will hear some positive news soon . Ryan has recently had a letter confirming that he has been selected to come for his 2nd trial over a 6 week period which will commence in september.

Well done boys.


 

SHARPY AND H JOIN CAMBRIDGE

Tori 'SHARPY' Sharp and Hollie 'H' Augustus have been accepted by CAMBRIDGE UNITED to play in the U12 and U16 age group.

Sorry girls got to put up with me on Monday to now.


BUFF TO PLAY FOR CHELSEA

Beth 'BUFFY' Ivens has now accepted the chance to play for CHELSEA in their Academy next season. She was offered a place at TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS but she went for trials at WATFORD and CHELSEA a week later and is now off to CHELSEA.


5 A SIDE WAS A WINNER

The 5 A-SIDE day at wisbech was a great success with with 6 mixed age group teams playing against each other in a friendly but competitive way. The winners of the competiton were TEAM EMSON having not lost a game out of the 5 played.


BUFFY AT SPURS

Beth 'BUFFY' Ivens is now playing for TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS after leaving Cambridge at the end of her time in the U16 .

FIND US KEEPERS 5 A-SIDE = 12TH JUNE ( Only for those involved in Find Us Keepers )

The FIND US KEEPERS end of season 6 A-SIDE will be on Sat June 12th from 10-1 at the Thomas Clarkson School in Wisbech. This is all my groups coming together at one venue , mixing together and playing some 6 A-side games. Be at the school for before 10 please.


SUNDAY 30TH NOT RUNNING

Due to some 5 A side tournements I will not be running the 30th of May session, but I would like to invite the lads to come on the Saturday 29th if they can as it is the last session of the season.


SMILER IN DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

Ben ' Smiler ' Lowther has been accepted into the Huntingdon Regional college run Football Development Centre . This combines quality football coaching from a UEFA A Licsence coach and a B Liscence Coach and school work. Some of the lads produced from this have represented their country at schoolboy level.

Well done mate , well deserved.


Q UNABLE TO TRAIN ANYMORE

Due to his work and playing schedule Quintin ' Q ' Young will not be able to attend FIND US KEEPERS training anymore. Thankfully though he is able to get training over at Peterbourgh with KEVIN OLDHAM . Q has been unable to attend training for sometime and due to his playing commitments and was unable to stay for very long when he could attend.

BUFFY GETS SHOT AT GUNNERS

Beth ' BUFFY ' Ivens my Cambridge United U16 who is sadly in her final season at Cambridge has been asked back for a 2nd trial with Arsenal in an attempt to get into their Academy.

Very proud of you BUFF as you have worked very hard this season, FINGERS CROSSED.


M.O.T.M FOR NOSSY

Even though his side lost 3-2 Ryan 'NOSSY' Day got the Man of the Match in his game last night ( 13.4.10 ) . After speaking to his dad later that night he said " if it were not for Ry they would have lost by at least 6 or 7 more ".

 Well Done Dragon.  


SUTTON TO MEPAL ON THURSDAYS

Starting from next Thursday ( 15th ) training will be at Mepal from the earlier time of 6.30 .


COTTENHAM TRAINING - FRIDAYS

The session on a friday at Cottenham will be at 6.15 - 7.15 on the grass rather than 8-9 on the astro.


SEANY STEPPING UP

Sean' SEANY ' McGlone has been asked to play for Histon Academy in an U10's game this past weekend and the report was very positive even though they lost.

NEW SCHOOL TO START IN COTTENHAM

A new session is to start at Cottenham Village College on their Artificial Surface on FRIDAY APR 9TH = 8-9 .This will be until the lighter weather arrives and then the session can move onto the grass area at the college earlier.


THE 6TH WEEK- NO TRAINING

This week is the 6th week so there will be no training , have a well deserved rest guys.

BAD NEWS = JNR

I was informed yesterday that ADAM 'JNR' MASTERSON suffered a broken leg just below the knee at his game at Cherry Hinton on Sunday 7th . I wish you all the very best and hope you get better soon .

FINALLY its here the clash , Sunday 10th of Jan sees Chatteris Fen Tigers U16 take on Fordham Hammers U16 , MORE IMPORTANTLY  Ben ' SMILER ' Lowther Vs Adam ' JNR ' Masterson , should be good , weather permitting.


TRAINING STARTS AGAIN

Thursday training is starting again on the 7th at Sutton  , Saturday and Sunday start again on the 9th and 10th back at Mepal.


WISBECH TO START 5TH JAN

My session at Wisbech will be starting on Jan 5th at 8-9 at the Thomas Clarkson school artificial surface.


3 HOUR SPECIAL SNOWED UNDER

My 3 hour session that I was going to be doing at Wisbech is off due to the snow. I hope to re-arrange it at some point.


MEPAL FIELD BACK IN ACTION

The home of the Saturday and Sunday schools is back in action and will be ready to use from the start of next year.


WISBECH SPECIAL GETS THE GO

On Saturday 19th I am doing a 3 hour Goalkeeping Special at WISBECH ACORNS , Barton Road , Wisbech , which will run from 10.30 - 1.30 .


RETURNING LEGENDS

On Saturday DEC 12th for our christmas 2v2 finale LUKE ' MR EMSON ' EMSON and LEWIS ' THE DEVIL ' WOOLARD are returning .

Should be interseting to see how fit EMO is after being at Uni.  


WISBECH SPECIAL

I have 75% organised a three hour Goalkeeping special at Wisbech to promote myself and my school which will be starting in the new year at the Thomas Clarkson school. Its 75% as we are just waiting on clearaance for the venue which will be WISBECH ACORNS , BARTON ROAD ground from 10.30-1.30. 


WISBECH WEDNESDAY NOW TUESDAY

Due to a mix up between the staff at the Thomas Clarkson school I cannot do my session on a Wednesday from 7-8 , I have now provisionally had to book 8-9 on a Tuesday night, hopefully this will run in the new year without to much trouble.


CAMBRIDGE GIRLS RATTLE THE CANARIES

3 of my Cambridge United Girls won player of the match against Norwich this past weekend. Abbie ( U10 ) , Beth ( U12 ) and Sav ( U14 ) all played very well even though all lost but if it was not for them then it could have been more.

WEDNESDAY WISBECH SCHOOL SET TO START

I have finally found a venue to hold sessions in the Wisbech area. I will be starting at the Thomas Clarkson School in Wisbech on Weds 2nd Dec from 7 until 8 on their 3G Artificial Surface.


EV MAN SHOWING HISTON THE STYLE

The 'EV MAN' Evan Jekkells has been playing really well for Histon getting a 9 /10 for his display against Ipswich Town 2 weeks back, his performances have been consistantly good and Histon a very pleased with him.

BRIGHTON SIDE OF LIFE

Hopefully if it can be arranged Luke ' MR EMSON ' Emson may be going to spend some days with Brighton and Hove Albion.Luke who is currently at Uni in Brighton studying Sports Journalism still wants to see how far he can go in the world of Football so this might be the next step.


FIELDZY OFF TO TALENT CAMP

Scarlet 'Fieldzy' Field is going to the national talent camp at the end of the month. This is where selected players from teams around the country go for sessions with national coaches with views to potential call ups. Scarlet will be one of 4 Arsenal girls that are attending. 


CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY  ON BOARD

From the 28th of Sept , I will be training the representative teams for Cambridge University, I feel that this is a good opportunity to broaden my coaching horizons on a different scale. 


FIELDZY TO ARSENAL

Scarlet Field ( Fieldzy ) has recently signed for Arsenal for their U16 side and has been handed the No.1 shirt, Fieldzy has been a hard worker in her time at Cambridge United with me aswell as the training sessions she has attended with FIND US KEEPERS.

Myself and all the guys she trains with wish her the very best of luck.

 


MR EMSON AT CITY 

Luke ' MR EMSON ' Emson is currently training with Cambridge City mens team twice a week aswell as already being on the bench for 2 of their pre seaon games. He feels positive about how its going and is confident that he is making an impression as the other keepers are " NO LUKE EMSON ".


HISTONS EVAN ALMIGHTY

The EV MAN Evan Jeckells has signed up for Histon U11 this season as their first choice keeper. Ev went over for a trial period at the end of last season and impressed the coaches that much that he has been signed up.
